╨┴├╦┴╟┼ ╙╨╠╔╘ ╙├╥╧╠╠ ╠┼╞╘
BY ─ICK ╦LINGENS
╧NE OF MY STUDENTS DEVELOPED A ├╧═┴╠
PLAY - IT IS ON DISK IN THE PROGRAM
FILE 'CAVE-WARRIOR'. ╔N THIS PLAY HE
USED SPRITES ON THE TEXT SCREEN.
┬ESIDES THAT HE NEEDED TO SCROLL THE
LINES 5 TO 25 OF THE TEXTSCREEN
CONTINOUSLY TO THE LEFT. ╧F COURSE IT
WAS POSSIBLE TO DO THAT BY USING THE
PROCEDURES 'GETSCREEN' AND
'SETSCREEN' FROM THE SYSTEM PACKAGE
BUT THAT SLOWERED DOWN THE GAME TOO
MUCH.
╚E MADE A PACKAGE CALLED
'PKG.SPLITSCLEFT'. ╔N THE PACKAGE ARE
THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURES
SPLITSCROLL - SCROLLS THE ENTIRE TEXT
SCREEN ONE COLOMN LEFT
APPEAR - (STRING) AFTER THIS
PROCEDURE CALL THE
STRING APPEARS
VERTICALLY ON THE RIGHT
SIDE OF THE SCREEN WITH
STRING(1:1) ON THE 5TH
LINE.
SET38COL - (TRUE/FALSE) IF THE
FLAG EQUALS ╘╥╒┼, THE
TEXTSCREEN IS SETUP
WITH 38 COLOMNS.
╧N DISK THERE IS ALSO A DEMO PROGRAM
ILLUSTRATING THE ABOVE COMMANDS:
EXAM.SPLITSCROLL.
╘HE PROGRAM ╘┼╪╘╙╨╥╔╘┼╙ ILLUSTRATES
THE WAY OF MOVING A SPRITE ON THE
TEXTSCREEN.
